About Learning2
Meet the owners and directors of Learning2! Jeanette Dobson and Shelly Berryhill are certified teachers, parents and community members dedicated to making the educational experience more fulfilling for every student. We recognize that every child is unique and able to learn if given the proper tools and instruction. The methods of our Center are diagnostic, prescriptive and multi-sensory. More than that, they are common sense approaches that meet the needs of multiple styles of learners.
Many of our experiences with education were gained during our professional careers as educators, but some of the most meaningful and enlightening have occurred in the raising of our 8 children (collectively, between our two families). So far, we can boast one Doctorate, one Master's, and two Bachelor's degrees, 1 high school student and three middle school students! We're not novices at rearing and educating kids! We've poured these years of experience into our Learning Center in hopes that it can be of service to our community and your family.

Jeanette Dobson, senior member of the team, has kids who have left the nest and are all involved in careers and families of their own now. Jeanette graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S in Education and taught at the high school level for 3 years. Subsequently, she and her husband opened 2 Sylvan Learning Centers in the Houston area which they managed for 13 years. Their centers were consistently rated among the top 10% of all centers in the U.S. and Canada for excellence and best practices. Jeanette is thrilled to be able to bring the rich experiences of those years to our Learning2 Center. |

Shelly Berryhill, junior partner and co-Director, graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. degree in Education and a Reading Specialization. She's spent most of her adult life teaching and tutoring in areas ranging from the public school system to Sunday School to home schooling her four children for the past 12 years. Her teaching career actually began in the garage-converted-playroom back in the early 70's with a big green chalkboard and neighborhood playmates as her first students! Shelly and her husband have served in both traditional and emerging ministry over the last 20 years. She loves having the opportunity to see the love of learning grow and flourish in her own four children and has a heart to watch it grow in your kids as well! |
