This was Ana’s first year in the public school system. Our daughter had been in a private school all her life from Pre K to 4th grade and when we decided to make the move to the neighborhood school, we felt sure that she would be ahead of all the other kids in her class. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of school, we got a call from her teachers stating that they were concerned about Ana’s grades. They told us that she was having trouble in all her subjects, especially math and language arts. They were concerned that if she didn’t get help quickly she would have trouble passing her TAKS tests in the spring.

This is when I called Learning Squared to see if they could help Ana catch up with her classmates. They were extremely professional and so responsive to our needs. They used a battery of standardized tests to assess Ana’s current levels and then spent time going through each area with us and explaining where the weak spots were. I was shocked to find out that Ana was at least a year and a half behind in both reading and math.

Ana started attending Learning2 after school for an hour several days a week in the fall. Her confidence was low. The staff welcomed her with open arms and she was given the attention she needed to start turning things around. It amazed me that Ana never complained about going to tutoring. She actually enjoyed her sessions and almost immediately we saw a difference in her attitude towards school.

Over the course of about a semester we saw Ana’s enthusiasm for school continue to build. Her teachers were impressed with the difference as her grades started to improve as well. She loves going to school now and loves trying new things. The motivation she has to complete projects on time and in a neat fashion has increased even more. Her self esteem has jumped to a whole new level. She takes responsibility for her school work and is more confident in the way she communicates with her peers.

When Ana started at Learning2 she was barely passing but boy have things changed ! Her last report card was straight A’s! And her TAKS tests? NO PROBLEM! She was commended in all areas! She now has the skills and tools of HOW to learn.

Learning2 has been a wonderful experience not only for our child but for us as parents. We’ve been kept up to date on Ana’s progress and all of our concerns, which have been very few, have been handled immediately . They have gone out of their way to make sure her classes work into our busy schedule. The qualifications and capabilities the staff possess are top of the line. The center is convenient to get to and attractive and inviting for the kids.

Thank you Learning2 for all the help and direction you’ve given Ana!

We came to Learning2 after my daughter failed her 4th grade TAKS test.   Her classroom grades were passing but I had noticed that she seemed anxious about the TAKS and she would make comments like “I hope I pass”. It would break my heart to hear her say things like “I’m stupid, I can’t do it”.   Failing the TAKS seemed to confirm her fears. I noticed an increase in her anxiety level about school. She knew if she didn’t pass the 5th grade test, she wouldn’t be able to go on to 6th grade.

Daniela was actually the one that suggested a learning center. She had seen commercials on TV and asked me to take her. When I received a flyer for Learning2 and realized how convenient it was for us I gave them a call. From the very beginning I felt like we were in good hands. I have always been met with a positive and working attitude. Especially in the area of understanding “HOW” the steps to learning actually work. When my daughter started to get reading lessons, I asked “How do you re-teach reading?”. I was amazed at the logic behind the methodology. No matter what the question, Jeanette always had a solid answer or explanation.

I can’t say enough about how she is constantly getting positively challenged, encouraged, and praised by the Learning2 staff. They are extremely supportive and knowledgeable and really have made Daniela feel like part of the extended Learning2 family. Not only do I know that their teaching methods work, I also know that whatever they do is easy for Daniela to pick up and grasp.

The playful décor and welcoming atmosphere of the center really set a positive tone for learning. The staff is always helpful in working with our schedule. They have gone above and beyond when schedule changes have to be made to ensure that my child’s needs are met. I never feel guilty or “punished” for having to call at the last minute. They realize that we all lead very busy and sometimes hectic lives and I really respect that about them.

My daughter didn’t learn like other kids and so certain concepts were hard for her to grasp. When she started out she tested at a 3rd grade level (at the start of 5th grade) but now she’s right where she needs to be. In fact we’ll come back right before going into 6th grade to get a jump start on math and reading so that the transition into 6th grade won’t be so daunting.

What I can tell you is that her experience has been “life changing”. Because of all the positive benefits, healthy learning environment, and fun way of presenting subjects and topics, she has gone from saying “I hope I pass” to “I knew I’d pass, but I never thought I’d do so well”! That’s music to a mothers ears! You can’t put a price tag on that.

I don’t think my daughter’s issues are that uncommon. The public school system can only do so much. Investing in my child’s education and renewed self esteem has been the best money I’ve ever spent.
Thanks Learning2!

When my granddaughter started to struggle in school, I wasn't sure what I could do to help her.  She was having a terrible time with math.  I discovered Learning Squared.  Since the very first day, she has always enjoyed going and almost immediately her grades started to improve!

Shelly and Jeanette are wonderful teachers and they make learning fun!  I recommend Learning Squared to everyone, even if their child is looking to get ahead.

Thank you for all you have done,

                                                                                       Felisa Smith

We enrolled our son at Learning Squared because I wanted to make sure that his reading skills were strong.  Also, I noticed that he was having trouble with his handwriting and writing composition.  His experience has been so positive!

He was in the 1st grade and had started to read but since I was homeschooling him I wanted to make sure he had everything he needed.  During his time at the center I have seen a dramatic improvement in his skills.  Reading was ok with him, but now he LOVES reading.  When he was retested his levels had gone up 2 years!  He is reading chapter books and now the problem is getting him to turn the light out at night and stop reading.

I've also noticed a huge improvement in his writing skills.  He really fought me when I attempted to get him to write anything.  Now he is confident and doesn't hesitate to put things down on paper.  I had to giggle when I found his "things to do list" the other day.  After his birthday party I suggested that he write thank you notes.  To my surprise he went off by himself and came back with several he had composed and written himself.  He was so proud!

He loved his time in reading and writing so much that we decided to let him work on math.  Once again, he just couldn't get enough.  He is moving so fast I've started working at a more advanced level at home with him.  He saw some older students at your center working on math skills and came home to tell me that next he wants to work on algebra!  Ok, I'm not ready for Algebra just yet, but it's so fun to see his enthusiasm and excitement about learning new things.

We love what you do, and I recommend it to all my friends,
